Sigar's sire, Safeen (Ibn Safinaz x Abitibi Madeena x
Imperial Madheen) is a 1991 Straight Egyptian Arabian owned by K.Z.
Arabians in Israel. As a yearling and 2 year old, Safeen earned numerous
regional halter championships and reserve championships. His Egyptian
Event winnings include: Top Five 2-year old Futurity Colt and Champion
Extended Specialty Colts of 1991. Safeen is a consistent sire of
athletic offspring with exceptional dispositions. Sigar's dam, MB Ballur
by El Norus was purchased by Montebello Farms in Quebec upon their farm
dispersal. Although his dam remains unshown, Sigar has both his sire and
dam's incredible laid-back personality and trainability. Upon entering
the show ring; however, he amazes the crowd with his charm and charisma!
Emily Vincent purchased Sigar from SEAH Farms (or Canadian Arabians Ltd
at that time) and she was subsequently was transferred to California by
her employer. To her family's amazement she brought Sigar! "Can't you
buy another horse when you get down here?" exclaimed her father. With
tears in her eyes she stated that there was not another horse like him
in the world! Her family and friends watched in amazement as he took the
Class A show circuit and the Open Dressage circuit by storm garnering
the following awards in his first year of showing: 2003 USEF Horse of
the Year Open Dressage and Arabian Dressage. His 2nd show in his life
was the 2003 Region 3 Championships in which he beat 24 horses trotting
away with an incredible score of 74%! He amazed everyone when they found
out that, not only was he an Arabian, but he was a Straight Egyptian! He
learned perfect flying lead changes and was doing Tempis every one by
the age of 4! A quick learner, he went on to beat Warmbloods at their
own game until he was retired from Dressage at the 2nd Level to a life
in the Western Pleasure and Halter ring! In 2003, under the direction of
Arturo Saldana, he won Horse of the Year in Halter and in 2004 and 2005
he again won this title! In 2005 he was the 2005 Champion Horse of the
Year in Western Pleasure- Open and ranked 7th in the Nation! He has been
featured in www.arabianworldtv.com and other various publications! Sigar
has proven that not only do Straight Egyptians have beauty, they have
brawn as well!
